Tennis
San Francisco tennis club has 12 indoor and 16 outdoor courts and is open from 5.30am to 10pm. Our concierge will be happy to make a booking for you.
Jogging
The best place to start your route is five minutes from the hotel on Market Street. Our concierge will be happy to give you a jogging map with suggested path. Take a view of the downtown skyline, the Bay and Treasure Island beyond, the wide path by the sea front has plenty of room for passing, should you be on the fast track.
Outdoor Activities
Walking
Crissy field is a stunning park within the Golden Gate National Parks, with 100 acres of wild, windswept shoreline. This is a favorite place for walkers, joggers, board sailors and cyclists. It is also home to thousands of birds and the occasional seal.
Formal walking tours of the city can be arranged for more gentle exercise.
Cycling
Bicycle rentals and tours. Riders can enjoy the scenic beauty of the Bay Area either on their own or with an experienced guide. Trail rides range from beginner to advanced. Generally all accessories are included with rental. This activity is suitable for all ages and can be arranged by our concierge. Fees are approximately USD 10.00 – USD 20.00 per hour.
Paragliding
Tandem Paragliding is not everyone’s idea of an adventure but if you are interested to ‘experience flight in its purest form’ it can be arranged. Fees are approximately USD 150. Please ask our concierge for more details.
Beaches
Ocean beach runs the entire west side of San Francisco, you can walk unimpeded all the way to San Mateo County. The Pacific Ocean can sometimes offer great surfing for enthusiasts. For more sedate pleasures China Beach, located in Pacific Heights, is a favorite spot for swimming and sunbathing, it is located at Seacliff and 28th Ave. just off of El Camino Del Mar. Alternatively Baker's Beach offers a stunning view of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Marin Headlands. It is just west of the Bridge in the Presidio.
Water Sports
Explore San Francisco Bay in a kayak. Paddle past the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz with spectacular views of the downtown skyline at sunset. Guided excursions are available. This activity is suitable for all ages and can be arranged by our concierge. Fees are approximately USD 40.00 – USD 90.00 per person
Numerous fishing boats leave from San Francisco. They go for salmon and halibut outside the bay or striped bass and giant sturgeon within. Sailing offers a peaceful perspective of the city. For either of these activities please speak to our concierge.
