You don’t have to leave the hotel to enjoy most of your favourite sports. Within a few minutes from your room we offer excellent facilities from tennis courts to a comprehensive water sports service.

But the islands also offer a wide variety of diversions. Please see below details of the most popular sports and where to participate.

Tennis

We have 5 tennis courts within the hotel, 3 of which can be floodlit for night matches. We offer lessons from our resident coach who has also coached Bermuda’s Davis Cup tennis team, so you are in good hands. Anything you may have left behind is available to purchase in our pro shop. The courts are open from 8am. A charge is made for courts of USD 10 per hour. Tuition fees are USD 70 per hour.

Jogging

There are plenty of jogging routes available around the island, our own grounds cover an extensive circuit with wonderful Ocean views or simply strike off down the beach. For further exploration there is a disused railway trail that offers a formidable path for enthusiasts. Jogging maps are available from our concierge.

Outdoor Activities

Horseback Riding

Ride into the sunrise along the South Shore beaches and scenic trails through sand dunes. Experienced guides will accompany you and organise rides for all levels of ability at sunrise or sunset.
USD 65.00 for the 1-1/4 hour ride.

Dolphin Interaction

Dolphin quest is a wonderful hands-on experience with these much adored creatures. Touch, play and swim with dolphins, either from a boat or whiz along beside them, propelled by underwater scooters. Staff are well informed with regard to animal conservation. From USD 95.

Cycling

A disused railway track which formerly ran from one end of the island to the other is now only open to walkers and cyclists. At various points there are good sea views and several picnic spots. Our concierge will be happy to provide a trail map and arrange cycle hire.

Swimming Pool

Our free form pool is temperature controlled throughout the year so you can enjoy the ocean view and swim in the winter. A full service restaurant and bar serves food and drinks all day. The pool includes a jacuzzi area and a shallow end for children.

Beach

The beach is Bermuda’s most popular attraction and Elbow Beach is located on one of the most beautiful stretches. We have our own private beach, dusted with pink sand. Food and drinks are available from Mickey’s – Bermuda’s only bistro on the beach. Lounge chairs and beach umbrellas are provided as well as our attentive and discreet service.

Water Sports

Bermuda offers fabulous water sports, with 109 miles of coastline and some of the clearest waters over these most northerly coral reefs. 500 years of history is documented in over 400 ship wrecks. Water sports are well organised with opportunities for all age and ability. Blue Water Divers located on our private beach can make arrangements for all the following activities from Scuba diving to Kayaking.

Scuba Diving

Bermuda is surrounded by treacherous reefs and consequently over 400 shipwrecks provide a fascinating underwater tour of Bermuda’s history. Numerous dive sites are readily accessible in depths of water from 10 feet to 80 feet and more. Frigates, freighters and liners lie in their watery graves where you can search for ampoules and observe a vast range of aquatic life, or simply let your thoughts travel in these under water museums. Dive schools cater for every level and run dives all year. In the winter time the water is coldest, but the visibility is at its peak and the temperature is nothing a good wet suite cannot deal with. In the summer time there is the obvious advantage of warmer water. Blue Water divers on our beach will make all the arrangements for you.

Helmet Diving

Helmet Diving is a fabulous way to explore the sea bed without the skill of scuba diving or even getting your hair wet. You simply place a helmet on your shoulders with an air pipe to the surface and descend a ladder to a pleasant depth of around 10 feet. You stroll through the reefs accompanied by a specialist guide, feeding fish and enjoying the beautiful coral. Children from 5 years old can participate. It is ideal for non swimmers or if you wear glasses.

Deep-sea Fishing

Full or half day trips can be arranged with plenty of opportunity to catch marlin, wahoo, tuna and more in the Atlantic. Responsible game fishing is encouraged in Bermuda with any fish not destined for eating being returned to the sea.

Snorkelling

These are the world’s most northerly reefs and there are miles of coral to explore. Visit a different site each day from the shore, alternatively take a water scooter and zoom over to nearby shipwrecks.

Kayaking

Ocean Kayaks are supplied and they are easier to get in or out of, you don’t have to worry about being stuck. A kayak is a quiet way to explore the coves and to approach wildlife without disturbance, often giving you a closer vantage point.

Jetski

Tour the island or just have some fun on a jet ski. Drivers must be 16 years old with proof of age.

Parasailing

Fly through the sky over the blue azure. Fly in pairs or alone, take a dip or if you prefer take off and land staying absolutely dry.
